6/10 - Bulldog Softball Summer Camp
The Bulldog softball team is holding a summer camp for youth players rising to 6th-9th grade. This is a great way for young players to level up and meet and be trained by older players who have had a lot of success already! No joke! We have sold out of our allotment of 1250 Mariners Tickets - congratulations to all of our sellers! Thank you all for making this fundraiser a spectacular success. We look forward to seeing lots of Garfield fans at the April 28th game. Tickets will be distributed via email in the next couple of weeks. 2/6 - Mariners Ticket Sales
It is time to kick off our Mariners ticket sales fundraiser! We are participating in the 2024 High School Baseball Classic (HSBC) at T-Mobile Park this spring. This means we get to play a Varsity baseball game at T-Mobile Park (Saturday, April 6th @ 2:30pm vs Issaquah HS) and also get to hold a fundraiser community event at a Mariners game (Sunday, April 28th @ 1:10pm vs Arizona Diamondbacks). This is a great opportunity for our players to play a game in a professional ballpark, a memory they will be able to take with them for the rest of their lives. The fundraiser portion of the program is also very important for Garfield baseball, as selling these Mariners tickets is by far our biggest fundraiser for the year. 8/7 - Welcome New Fall Ball Coaches
We are excited to announce two new Fall Ball coaches for 2023 - Kyle Crowder & Jason Riley. Here are their bios: Kyle Crowder started coaching baseball shortly after completing his high school baseball career. Over his 30-year coaching career he has coached kids of all ages, but for the past 12 years he has coached high school and select ball for players aged 14 to 18. As a player, Coach Crowder was primarily a catcher but also played corner infield positions, outfield, and pitched, and he prides himself on his ability to teach all aspects of the game. Coach Crowder’s primary focus as a coach is to help each player develop their skills to their highest potential and level of dedication. When he is not coaching baseball, Coach Crowder is a professor at the University of Washington, researching community and urban dynamics and teaching courses in statistics. Jason Riley began coaching baseball as a catcher instructor for the North Seattle Rainiers organization in 2017. As a player, Jason was a catcher and corner infielder in high school in Bakersfield, California. He went on to play at Bakersfield College and was drafted as a catcher by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2005. His coaching philosophy focuses on fostering a growth mindset, layering skills on a fundamentally sound foundation, and emphasizing competition. Jason can apply his coaching skillsets to all facets of the game. When away from coaching, Jason enjoys spending time with his family outdoors and playing baseball in the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League. 4/22 - Fundraising Success!
